The Kahuzi-Biega National Park is located in eastern DRCongo. It is 6000 km ² vast with an altitude of 600 to 3308m. It takes its name from two mountains which dominate its high altitude part including: Mount Kahuzi (3308m) and Mount Biega (2790m). The PNKB covers the administrative territories of Kabare, Kalehe, Shabunda and Walungu in the Province of South Kivu; from Walikale in the Province of North Kivu and from Punia in the Province of Maniema

The objective of the Congolese Institute for the Conservation of Nature is to strengthen the capacity of ICCN to ensure the conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity in the network of Protected Areas of the DRC, in cooperation with local communities and other partners to contribute to the well-being of the Congolese populations and the whole of humanity.
